Adam Savage Explores the Props of Star Trek: Picard in New Video
DECEMBER 2, 2022 - In a follow-up to a story that we published early last month, covering the upcoming Prop Store auctioning of props, costumes, and more from the Paramount+ original streaming series Star Trek: Picard, we are pleased to give you even more as Adam Savage was allowed up-close access to them by means of his YouTube channel Tested.
We thank Adam for sharing these props with us. We get an up close and personal look at them in a way that we’ve not been able to see on the show. We also get a glimpse into how the prop makers find the simplest solutions to complicated Trek tech.
How a few strip lights become an illuminated viewscreen and how the details in a costume are scratch-built, 3D printed, and custom-dyed to sell future tech that isn’t even seen up close on screen but still sells the 25th Century in a satisfying way.
If you didn’t already want to own a piece of the show, after watching this, your desire to do so will double faster than the profit margin of a Dabo table being run by a distractingly clad Bajorin employee! Better start saving some latinum if you want to participate in the bidding. In any event, the video will deepen your appreciation for what goes on behind the scenes and the things we see on the screen.
