Anson Mount and Others Celebrate Wrapping STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS Season 3

In an Instagram story posted Thursday afternoon Anson Mount, the actor who plays Captain Pike on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, announced that Strange New Worlds season 3 had finished filming and that he had “hung up his boots for the season.” After he posted the story he also posted a video of himself leaving the set. In the video he thanked everyone who supported the strike and stuck with Strange New Worlds despite the delays and expressed his desire to “sleep for a week.” Filming is exhausting and the entire cast and crew of SNW deserves a very relaxing break.

Mount wasn’t the only one to post about the end of the season on social media; Jess Bush, who plays Nurse Chapel on the show, posted a video of a wig blowing in the wind with the caption “Last Day vibes.” Melissa Navia, who plays Erica Ortegas, posted on X about her frustration with flight delays on her trip home and the fact that the captain of the plane had decided to stroll through the aisles. Anson Mount replied to this with a very witty comment saying, “Ha! Tell him you fly bigger ships.”

Strange New Worlds season 3 still isn’t technically officially finished filming. According to Anson Mount there are still some small things getting filmed Friday but for the most part it is finished. With filming pretty much wrapped, Strange New Worlds will soon go into post-production. Given that it is a science fiction show, that process can take anywhere between one to two years. There was about one year between when season 2 finished filming and when it aired on Paramount+, so we can probably expect to see a similar timeline with season 3, meaning that we won’t be seeing season 3 until at least Summer 2025.
