Anton Yelchin documentary Love, Antosha nominated for Hollywood Critics’ Association award
The Anton Yelchin documentary Love, Antosha has been honored with a nomination for Best Documentary by the Hollywood Critics’ Association. The documentary focuses on the life and career of Anton Yelchin, who among other accolades, starred in the Kelvin Timeline Star Trek films. He was killed in a tragic accident in 2016 at the age of 27, shortly before Star Trek Beyond premiered in theaters.
The Hollywood Critics’ Association, formerly The Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society, announced the nominations for their 3rd Annual Hollywood Critics Awards at the end of November. They pointed out that in addition to larger films like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Irishman, their nominations reflected underrepresented films too, like Wild Rose and Brittany Runs a Marathon. The HCA’s Chairman, Scott Menzel, said of the nominations, “The creation and goal of this organization has always been about celebrating film while embracing diversity and elevating underrepresented voices. We believe that our mission is universal, and this is why we changed our name to be reflective of that. As we continue to push for change, we want to be part of the solution, which means slowly building a community of passionate critics who are reflective of the USA and the world as a whole.”
Love, Antosha faces competition in the Best Documentary category from American Factory, Apollo 11, Hail Satan?, and The Kingmaker.
The 3rd Annual Hollywood Critics Awards are to be held at the Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles on January 9th, 2020. Love, Antosha is now available to rent or buy on Amazon or in the iTunes Store.
