As 'Star Trek: Picard' Nears Its End, Jonathan Frakes Has Some Good News
APRIL 13, 2023 - In an exclusive interview, actor Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: Picard’s Captain William T. Riker) told Screenrant of the fates of the cast of Picard.
Good news! “Nobody dies,” Frakes said.
This reassurance gives many fans a breath of fresh air. But it could imply anything from arrests, banishment, or happy endings for the entire Star Trek: The Next Generation cast. Time will tell.
The final two episodes of Picard have yet to address the mysteries behind Jack Crusher’s red door visions, the fate of the Federation incursion, or what the Changeling foes have planned for Frontier Day, among other remaining plot threads.
Frakes followed up his comments by asking, “Is that fact or fiction?”
This is perhaps a nod to his role as the host of the original Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction which aired between 1997 and 2002. But throws a decent bit of uncertainty into the mix to leave the audience pondering. This uncertainty does hint at possible unforeseen fates for our iconic heroes. But appears to lean toward a positive outcome for all at the end of the season. Fingers crossed.
The series finale is expected to arrive on Thursday, April 20. You can watch it and the rest of the series by following the Paramount+ link below. And until April 30, if you sign up for the streamer using the coupon code PICARD you’ll get a free month!
