Audiobook version of fan favorite Star Trek: Deep Space Nine novel reportedly in the works
AUGUST 2, 2022 - Star Trek fans’ favorite tailor (and spy and gardener and assassin), Elim Garak, has received a letter from Dr. Julian Bashir while Garak is back home on Cardassia. The letter inspires Garak to take a closer look at his life and to understand how to put the pieces of ravaged Cardassian society back together.
This is how we encounter Garak in the 27th Star Trek: Deep Space Nine novel, A Stitch in Time, written by the man who embodied Garak in over thirty on-screen appearances, Andrew J. Robinson. The novel was published by Pocket Books in 2000 and has not like many Star Trek novels have been adapted as an audiobook. That is apparently about to change.
According to Sid City, the official fan site of Alexander Siddig, who played Bashir on DS9, in a tweet that went out last Friday, Robinson said that an audio version of the book is in the works. Sid City also followed up to clarify that Robinson will be narrating it. However, Simon & Schuster, parent company of Pocket Books, has said that there is no news to share on the title, so nothing official is forthcoming yet from the publisher.
In the meantime, A Stitch in Time is still available in the Kindle format from Amazon.
