A special edition Blu-ray set, the Star Trek Picard Movie & TV Collection, featuring some of Jean-Luc Picard’s best moments, is available now.
Back in August, StarTrek.com announced the set, which includes four movies and two feature-length television episodes, all gearing you up for January’s premiere of Star Trek: Picard. The set’s synopsis reads: “Following the adventures of Captain Kirk, Star Trek: The Next Generation sees Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) helm the U.S.S. Enterprise as one of the franchise’s most prominent and beloved captains. With his crew, Captain Picard strives against foes of all kinds, from dangerous alien races to cyborgs to even himself. His thrilling adventures in space and time are presented in Blu-ray high definition to bring you four films—Star Trek: Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, and Star Trek: Nemesis—as well as 2 feature-length episodes— “The Best of Both Worlds” and “Chain of Command”—seamlessly edited together and fully restored.” According to StarTrek.com, the set also comes with special features, including previously-released behind-the-scenes specials, commentaries, gag reels and deleted scenes.
But that’s not all! The set also includes an exclusive 16-page comic from IDW called “Sky’s the Limit”, and StarTrek.com has a preview of what’s inside. In the preview, we can see Picard playing poker with the bridge crew, a priority message from Starfleet about a hostage situation on Akavan III, and the revelation that the Maquis are behind it...or are they?
The Blu-ray set with limited edition IDW comic is available to purchase now, at retailers in the United States. It is also due to be released in the UK on October 21, in Australia on October 23, and Germany on November 7.
