CBS All Access announces Star Trek Day on September 8th, with free streaming episodes and panels with Trek’s biggest names

CBS All Access is hosting Star Trek Day on Tuesday, September 8, 2020

Star Trek Day is almost here. Celebrated on September 8th each year, Star Trek Day honors the franchise on the anniversary of the The Original Series premiere in 1966. The 54th anniversary of Star Trek promises to be a special one, as CBS All Access has announced a virtual celebration, complete with a marathon of episodes from across the franchise and 3 ½ hours of panels featuring the cast and production crew of nine different Star Trek series.

On Tuesday, September 8th, the day kicks off with a streaming marathon that runs from 12am to 12pm PT, after which the panel events will start. Sadly, the streaming episodes will only be available to viewers in the United States, but the panels will be available worldwide. The panels will be hosted by Wil Wheaton and Mica Burton, and will be a mix of conversations with the casts and crews of your favorite Star Trek series, as well as franchise updates and some sneak peeks.

And these are no snoozers of panels, either. Folks...they got Bakula!

Just a few of the big names who will be appearing on panels throughout the day on Tuesday are:

  • Sonequa Martin-Green and David Ajala from Star Trek: Discovery

  • Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

  • Kate Mulgrew and the cast of Voyager

  • Sir Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Frakes from Star Trek: The Next Generation

  • The casts of Deep Space Nine and Lower Decks

  • George Takei and Rod Roddenberry representing The Original Series

  • And of course, Scott Bakula and the cast of Enterprise.

Executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Michelle Paradise and Akiva Goldsman will also be making appearances on the day. After the panels, the streaming event will continue until 9pm PT.

On Star Trek Day, CBS All Access is also resurrecting the Star Trek United Gives campaign on Twitter. Like they did earlier this year, for every tweet using the hashtag #StarTrekUnitedGives, CBS All Access will donate $1 to social justice organizations and programs for scientific advancement.

There are plenty of other events happening on Star Trek Day too, like a flash sale on Star Trek merchandise and a Trek-themed pub quiz. For a full list of all the events and further details, head to startrek.com/day.
