CBS All Access releases details of upcoming Star Trek Universe panel at New York Comic Con’s Metaverse

The Star Trek Universe is heading to New York Comic Con’s Metaverse, October 8th, 2020

CBS All Access has released details of what’s to come in its Star Trek Universe panel during Metaverse, the virtual version of New York Comic Con. Back in August, we learned that ReedPop’s flagship con in New York would be going virtual due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. And now you can add at least one reminder for the event, for when the Star Trek Universe shows off the casts of Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: Discovery, and more.

The virtual panel will be taking place on Thursday, October 8th, at 12pm ET. It’ll feature “back-to-back conversations” with the casts and crews of currently-airing Trek. First up will be Star Trek: Lower Decks’ series creator and voice cast in a special edition of “The Ready Room”, hosted by Wil Wheaton. They’ll be discussing the season finale of Lower Decks, which also airs on Thursday, October 8th. Scheduled to appear with McMahan are Tawny Newsome (Ensign Mariner), Jack Quaid (Ensign Boimler), Noël Wells (Ensign Tendi) and Eugene Cordero (Ensign Rutherford). Rounding out the bridge crew: Dawnn Lewis, Jerry O’Connell, Fred Tatasciore and Gillian Vigman are also expected to attend.

Then it’s on to Star Trek: Discovery to generate a bit of buzz before the premiere of season three on October 15th. Expected to appear are series stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman and Wilson Cruz, along with newcomers David Ajala, Blu del Barrio and Ian Alexander. They’ll be having what CBS All Access calls “an exclusive conversation on what’s in store for the U.S.S. Discovery crew”.

Star Trek isn’t the only thing that CBS All Access is taking to New York Comic Con’s Metaverse. They’ve also got an exclusive panel for The Stand on Friday, October 9th at 12:40pm ET. That’s the upcoming Stephen King adaptation starring Whoopi Goldberg, which itself is due to premiere on December 17th.
