Details for the Home Video Releases of the Deep Space Nine Documentary What We Left Behind
We finally have more details around the home video release of the Deep Space Nine documentary What We Left Behind.
TrekMovie.com has a nice rundown this week of all the details of the different versions of the release that will be available, and where you can pre-order it. Sadly, it looks like at the moment, only fans in the US and Canada have options to buy. All of which will be released on August 6th of this year.
There are three versions of the release coming. The DVD or Blu-ray, which is available through Amazon.com or the publisher’s Shout!Factory store, contains the documentary, plus a handful of special features including deleted scenes and a roundtable chat with the filmmakers, titled “HD Remaster Discussion”.
If that’s not enough for you, there is also a limited-run special edition Blu-ray, only available from the Shout!Factory store. The special edition includes everything on the standard Blu-ray, plus an extra disc with a discussion with Deep Space Nine’s composers, and a 50-minute roundtable discussion about the making of the documentary. There are only 1,500 special edition Blu-rays available.
Finally, for crowdfunding backers, there’s a combo pack with a DVD and Blu-ray, and it will go to all backers - regardless of region - in early July. The backer version will also have its own exclusive special features.
