Discovery Refit, Book's Ship and Section 31 Deimos Class added to the Star Trek Universe Official Starships Collection from Hero Collector
NOVEMBER 29, 2021 - When the Star Trek Universe collection from Hero Collector launched earlier this year, ships were included from Discovery, Picard, and the upcoming series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. This month, Hero Collector announced the addition of three new ships to the lineup, all of them from Star Trek: Discovery. Joining the collection are the U.S.S. Discovery-A (refit), the Deimos Class Section 31 vessel, and Cleveland Booker’s scout ship.
The Discovery-A came to be after the crew’s sudden arrival in the 32nd century. The ship was outfitted with the latest tech and recommissioned as the NCC 1031-A. The Deimos Class vessel is a stealth ship, developed by Section 31 and based on a Federation smaller, science intel destroyer, with numerous autonomous fighting drones that detach from the hull of the ship’s saucer section. Booker’s scout ship is its own unique wonder, boasting a cloaking device, multiple forms of faster-than-light travel, and the ability to manipulate the configuration of the hull to suit the needs of the crew.
All three ships are made to be as screen accurate as possible, with consistent oversight from Viacom CBS throughout production. Each model is hand painted and made from the same die-cast metal and high quality resin. As always, each model comes with a display base and magazine containing a detailed profile of the ship, with a behind-the-scenes look at the design process. All three ships are scaled to be compatible with other Star Trek: Discovery ships available. The NCC 1031-A is also being offered as an XL model, measuring 11.5” in length.
A look at the Hero Collector website shows the Deimos class available for purchase. Both Discovery-A models are available for preorder with delivery expected by the end of 2020. Cleveland Booker’s scout ship, at the time of publication, was not available for preorder. The subscription service is available (which goes without saying, really) for those who wish to purchase the entire Star Trek Universe collection.
