Star Trek Catan
Top review: “I love Catan. It's one of the first games I ever played with my husband when we started our weekly game nights years ago with friends. His mother happens to be a Star Trek fan (as are we!) and we didn't have any form of Catan in our game closet. So, in anticipation of a nice camping trip with minimal electronics, we purchased this! As always, Prime shipping had it to our door just in time for the trip since I bought it spur of the moment.
The gameplay is very similar to the original. (keep in mind that everyone always has some sort of "house rules" that they abide by. The biggest addition I noticed were the character cards with usable abilities. These were pretty darn handy (things like, move the Klingon ship to a space of your choice if you did not get any resources on your turn). They are usable up to 2 times and then the card is recycled. Anywho! I absolutely love it and the design is just a blast. You get to build starships and starbases! Who doesn't want to do that?!” - SarahBeth
Top review: “If you are looking to get started in the game, and you don’t want to spend a lot of money this is a great value. It gives you a mission that’s in three parts that explains the rules as you go. It has lots of extras including dice, tokens, and a rulebook that’s a summary with enough that you need to know to play.
I already had the core rule book, the game master screen, some of the custom dice, the adventure book, and other items. However to add more dice and to get some threat and momentum tokens, it was cheaper to buy this set to get those items and I also got the three part adventure campaign which is nice.
The three-part adventure campaign teaches you how to play while doing a three part adventure. It story is related to a Star Trek The Next Generation episode.” - ToastyEwok
Top review: “Excellent game! My girlfriend and I love board games but it gets a little old hat when you play against each other over and over. Enter "Star Trek Panic"! Playing cooperatively is so much more fun! The game pieces are very high quality, the game mechanics and rules are easy to learn, and the gameplay provides hours of fun! Hands down one of the best board games I've ever played!” - C. H. Sardinha
What can you say about Fluxx? It’s a fast-paced game with ever-changing rules. Easy to pick up, hard to put down. Star Trek Fluxx comes in Original Series, Next Generation, and Deep Space Nine editions.
Next Generation
Top review: “I have played the Regular Show edition of Fluxx and really liked it. But, the Star Trek TNG version takes it to a whole new level! Best played among a group of Trekkies, but can be enjoyed by non-trekkies as well.” - S Booth
The Original Series
Top review: “My 3 teenage grand children love to play Fluxx and introduced me to the game. We are all fans of the original Star Trek show. We like this deck that uses characters and things from that original series. You have to use strategy with this game as well as the luck of the draw. We have played with 2 to 4 players. The game can last 10 minutes to an hour, in our experience. Between us, the grandchildren and I have 4 versions. We plan on getting 2 more versions soon. Enjoy!!” - J Renee
Deep Space Nine
Top review: “If you're a fan of the Fluxx games (which I am) and you're a fan of DS9 (which I am) then you'll love this game. The art work is great. The combinations of GOALS are really detailed and tied into the series. My hopes is they create a connector set like they did with TOS and TNG Fluxx games. All in all, if you love the FLuxx game, you'll love this. If you're new to Fluxx, it's a fast paced, easy to learn card game that you can play multiple times in one sitting.” - JFC
Top review: “This is the 4x game Stars Trek fan's have been waiting for. Each player controls not just a ship or fleet, but the entire faction and finally the Federation wins the way they should, by diplomacy and encouraging others to be a part of the Federation and not by winning space battles or conquered planets. Each faction attains victory in accordance with who they are! The game involves exploring and evolving your side the most in many ways, from research or technology advances, or cultural hegemony, the universe is yours to see! Finally with its organic way of building the board, no one game is ever the same, the replay ability of this game is extremely high, and as Gale Force 9 introduces new factions, the number of players increases. I saw this at Gen on and instantly knew it was a must have” - Edward Pierce
