Fan petition asks for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’s Andrew Robinson to make Garak biography audiobook
In all of Trekdom, few could spin a yarn like Garak - Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’s plain, simple tailor who was anything but. Did you know he wrote an autobiography? Well, he didn’t exactly, though Andrew Robinson - the actor who brought him to life - did write a biography of Garak about 20 years ago.
Though the Simon and Schuster title A Stitch in Time has been out of print for a number of years, digital copies are available. Still, there’s something about hearing the master of obfuscation in his own words - in his own voice. And fans of the enigmatic character want to hear it from him.
There’s a petition running at Change.org to make A Stitch in Time into an audiobook, to be read by Garak. I mean, Robinson.
“During a reddit AMA in 2016,” the petition says, “Robinson was asked several times if he would make an audiobook of A Stitch in Time and he replied that nothing would give him more pleasure.”
But, it’s not up to him. It’s up to Simon and Schuster, who owns the rights to the book.
With their insatiable desire to hear Garak spin one more yarn, petitioners want to make their voices heard so that Garak’s voice can be heard!
Andrew Robinson's birthday is this Friday, the 14th of February. Petitioners hope to give him the present of lending Garak his voice once again.
