SEPTEMBER 10, 2023 - As mentioned here at DSTN back in January, after several long months in drydock, the USS Enterprise NCC 1701–D is once again back under construction.

Fanhome, under license from Paramount Consumer Products, is reintroducing us to the 1:8 scale, die cast metal, build-as-you-go model kit.  (Formerly from Eaglemoss)

The model features multiple assembly stages that are a combination of pressure-fit parts as well as ones that screw securely into place (The required engineering tool is provided).  So, no glue or paint will be needed on this build. When completed, it will measure 26.5 inches long and 20 inches wide. It will include light-up engines and nacelles, a deflector dish, and windows throughout the ship to complete the awesome.

New subscribers will receive package # 1., which includes two assembly stages.  Subscribers will receive 4 assembly stage kits and a detailed instruction magazine each month. Along the journey, they can look forward to receiving the following swag: a metal Enterprise-D mug, a T-Shirt, a screw box, a Star Trek: The Next Generation magazine binder, and a display case.

According to the press release,

Fans have been loud and clear that they want to get back to building the Enterprise-D, and we at Fanhome are happy to accommodate them, and introduce the build-up model to anyone just getting into the hobby.

Those just joining the journey can start their subscription.  To those returning to it, they can pick up where they left off.
