DECEMBER 24, 2020 - Gates McFadden is starting a podcast! And it looks like it might involve some of her Star Trek: The Next Generation co-stars.

A piece from Trek.Report pointed out that McFadden hinted at what’s to come on Twitter. Earlier this week, McFadden tweeted, “Recorded my sista @Marina_Sirtis this past week for the podcast. Did any of you know she is funny!?!?  who knew”.

In response to a number of fans expressing their excitement at the idea of a Crusher/Troi podcast (and, of course, utter shock at the idea of Marina Sirtis being funny), McFadden added that she’s also already interviewed her other Next Gen co-stars Jonathan Frakes, Wil Wheaton, Brent Spiner, Michael Dorn, and LeVar Burton. Sadly, she wasn’t able to give a launch date or any more details for the show. Quote-tweeting one fan who asked, “Any update on a link for this podcast?”, McFadden replied, “Once I settle on the name and edit I will give you a release date!!”

While McFadden also declined to give a theme for her upcoming podcast, one viable option could be a TNG rewatch. Trek Report notes that if McFadden were to go down that route, her podcast could join the likes of The Delta Flyers and The 7th Rule (Voyager and Deep Space Nine podcasts respectively) with former Trek stars revisiting their old Trek roles.

Of course, it’s all speculation at this point, and we’ll all just have to wait until Gates McFadden gives us some more details herself.
