APRIL 5, 2021 - The producers of Star Trek: Prodigy have revealed more details about Captain Janeway’s role in the series, due to be released on Paramount+ later this year.
In their First Contact Day panel, series creators Kevin and Dan Hageman showed off new artwork of Star Trek: Voyager’s former captain, updated with a style to match the recently-revealed Prodigy artwork. Vigilant viewers will note that Janeway’s uniform in the new artwork matches her old Voyager uniform...so when and where does the new show take place?
The Hageman Brothers answered that too! The first season of Star Trek: Prodigy will take place in the Delta Quadrant. And it’ll take place in the year 2383, five years after Voyager returned to the Alpha Quadrant.
So if Janeway’s already back in the Alpha Quadrant, how is she in the Delta Quadrant five years later? Simple! She’s an emergency training hologram, tasked with helping a wayward crew find their way.
