How Has the Internet Changed Fandom? Answer a Few Questions to Help Research the Question!

Take the time for a few quick questions on fandom!

NOVEMBER 16, 2O23 - Hello everyone! My name is Aster, I’m a Contributing Writer for Daily Star Trek News and I also co-run our social media. You probably know me from my Monday Meme Reviews and Halloween articles. I am also a college student and I am currently taking a class in which I have a large final research paper. For this paper I have to collect data from a large sample size of people, and that’s where you come in.

For my final research paper, I will be looking at how the advent of the internet affected the environment within the Star Trek fandom. From the outside, the Star Trek fandom is viewed as a force to be reckoned with, united, powerful, and passionate. We have stopped the cancellation of multiple shows, kept the franchise alive through multiple-year hiatuses, and encouraged the creators to be more accepting of the people in the world. However, that is simply the outside view. I want to know what the fans think. What was it like being within the Star Trek fandom, at any point in time? How did the advent of the internet, for those who remember it, affect how it felt to be a Trekkie?

I really want to be able to complete this research so please, please, please fill out this form. It won’t take you more than 5 minutes and would mean the world to me. Let the Trekkie voices be heard by the greater public! Thank you all so much! Live Long and Prosper!
