Independent sci-fi film To Meet the Faces You Meet, with Robert Picardo and Patton Oswalt, launches Indiegogo campaign to complete production
NOVEMBER 23, 2020 - In September, we told you that Star Trek actor Robert Picardo had joined the cast of To Meet the Faces You Meet, a new independent feature from Parallax Studio. With plenty of work left to do on the film, Parallax has announced a final round of fundraising to aid in completing the project.
To Meet the Faces You Meet is a science fiction film based on the comic “Fever Dreams”, written by Jan Strnad and illustrated by Richard Corben. The story follows a failed military experiment, symbiotic partners Fritz and his A.I. spaceship MEAD, as they are pursued by Admiral Gillette, played by Robert Picardo. After a successful fundraising campaign over the summer, Picardo was hired, along with fellow actors Patrick Warburton, Kassandra Wright, Samuel Hunt, and Lillie Young. Actor and comedian Patton Oswalt also stars in the film as the voice of MEAD.
With the animations, sound effects, and score complete, all that remains is to film and composite the actors into the otherwise finished film. With the new IndieGoGo campaign, Parallax Studio hopes to raise the rest of the funds needed for production. Depending on the amount you contribute, there are several backer awards available. For just $10, your name will make it into the credits. Pledge $35 and you’ll also get a Blu-ray copy of the film. Other backer rewards include signed artwork, collector’s cards, a signed copy of the script, screen-used props and even the option to be listed as a co-producer on the film.
