Jason Zimmerman Wins Los Angeles Confidential’s Inaugural Impact Award for Visual Effects
Star Trek: Discovery Visual Effects artist Jason Zimmerman has won a major new award.
From The Hollywood Reporter comes the story that the inaugural Los Angeles Confidential Impact Awards were held on Sunday evening. The awards, which were held at The LINE Hotel in Los Angeles, were created to honor crew members working behind the scenes and “below the line” to make our favorite television shows look and sound their best.
Jason Zimmerman, the Visual Effects supervisor for Star Trek: Discovery, was honored with an award for his contributions to visual effects. He’s in good company; other winners of the first annual Impact Awards included cinematographer Chris Teague, for his work on Russian Doll, production designer Drew Boughton for The Man in the High Castle, and costume designer Michelle R. Cole for Black-ish. This is Us creator Dan Fogelman received the night’s Visionary Award.
