Kate Mulgrew Reflects on the 25th Anniversary of Filming Her First Scenes on Voyager

Kate Mulgrew as Captain Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager

Yesterday, September 19th, marked the 25th anniversary of Kate Mulgrew filming her first scenes as Captain Janeway, and she reflected on the event on Twitter.

TrekNews.net first posted a tribute to Star Trek’s first female captain, with an animated GIF and a caption that read, “25 years ago today (Sept. 19, 1994), @TheKateMulgrew filmed her first scenes as Captain Kathryn Janeway on the set of #StarTrek: Voyager. The series would premiere the following January on UPN. #otd #tbt”

Mulgrew retweeted their message, and added, “25 years ago today I walked onto the Bridge and my life changed utterly. A singularly privileged and extraordinary journey on that intrepid vessel, with my beloved crew. How lucky I have been. #startrekvoyager #startrek”. It’s unclear whether Mulgrew intended to make a pun over the fact that Voyager was an Intrepid-class starship.

Congratulations to Kate Mulgrew, and the whole cast of Voyager...the 25th anniversary of the premiere of the first episode will be on January 16th, 2020.
