JULY 24, 2023 - GF9 Games has unveiled a new addition to the Star Trek gaming universe with their latest release, Star Trek: Away Missions. This immersive tabletop game allows players to step into the shoes of Starfleet commanders, leading their own landing parties on daring missions across the galaxy. 

In Star Trek: Away Missions, players will take on the role of seasoned Starfleet captains, leading their away teams to accomplish a variety of objectives. These objectives can range from conducting espionage and engaging in epic battles to assimilating unique knowledge and technologies. The ultimate goal is to earn points by successfully completing missions over the course of three challenging rounds.

Each landing party consists of various iconic characters from the Star Trek universe, each represented by a detailed miniature figure. These figures will traverse the mission boards, each with its own unique layout, to complete missions. Additionally, each character possesses its own set of strengths, skills, and attributes, further adding to the depth and strategy of the gameplay. Players must utilize their away team's unique abilities wisely to outmaneuver their opponents and achieve victory.

Two distinct teams feature prominently in the game: Riker's Away Team of the Federation and Locutus's Unimatrix of the Borg. These opposing teams will face off in the climactic "Battle of Wolf 359," offering players an exciting clash between the forces of the Federation and the relentless Borg collective.

The heart of the game lies in the Mission Deck, which outlines your away team's orders. Mission cards represent the various objectives that players must undertake to score points. Each mission card comes with a point value that is earned upon fulfilling the specified requirements. Success will depend on a clever blend of combat and skill tests, varying depending on the faction and mission type.

To aid players in their quests, the Support Deck offers valuable resources from the player's ship. These resources can be used strategically to gain an edge during missions. The Support Deck comprises two types of cards: Events and Equipment, both of which can significantly influence the tide of battle.

The game's mission area consists of multiple Mission Boards that serve as the backdrop for the thrilling away team missions. The mission area is divided into spaces, each defining the positioning and distance of objects and characters within it. Precise placement is crucial for planning and executing successful missions.

Once the three rounds are completed, the game culminates in determining the winner. Points earned from completed mission cards, along with Bonus Points tokens, are added to the scoring area. The player with the highest point total emerges victorious. In the event of a tie, the away team that scored the most mission cards claims the triumph. However, if the tie persists, the game is declared a draw, leaving both teams evenly matched.

 The game includes everything you need to start your interstellar adventure, from miniatures and mission boards to dice, cards, and tokens. So gather your crew, set your phasers to stun, and get ready to embark on an unforgettable journey through the final frontier!
