LeVar Burton expects he’ll be in Star Trek: Picard

One former Star Trek: The Next Generation star thinks we’ll eventually see the show’s cast turn up in Star Trek: Picard.

CNN was at the world premiere of The Lion King this weekend and stopped LeVar Burton on the red carpet. They asked him whether a TNG reunion was a possibility for the new series Star Trek: Picard. The actor, who played Lt Geordi LaForge on all seven seasons of The Next Generation implied he thought it was inevitable. He said, “It is unreasonable to assume that [Picard] doesn't know those people anymore, or that he stopped talking to them. And if he did there's good storytelling in why.”

But Burton isn’t holding out for a full-cast reunion. He said, “Are you gonna see all of us together, again, in a scene or episode? I don't know. [...] There's a lot of paper that needs to be papered, before we get there.”

The Lion King premieres this Thursday, July 18th, and Star Trek: Picard - with or without any Next Gen crewmates - is expected this Fall.
