MEME REVIEW MONDAY: A Psychotic Janeway, a Knife-Wielding Gowron, and More

The inaugural Meme Monday is here!

SEPTEMBER 11, 2023 - Hello! I’m Aster and I’m the resident Gen Z here at Daily Star Trek News. As such, I spend a decent bit of time on social media (specifically Twitter/X and Instagram), so I tend to see a lot of Star Trek Memes. I thought it could be fun to start Meme Review Monday where I collect all the memes I’ve seen throughout the week and share them with you lovely readers. Also, if you have any meme suggestions or memes you would love to see please send them to info@dailystartreknews.com.

So now, let’s fly.

The majority of the memes I’ve seen this week have been Tuvix-related, considering the most recent Star Trek: Lower Decks episode. This first meme comes from @theluppijackal on X:

I personally loved this meme. We know that if there are two things Janeway loves it’s coffee and brutally murdering Tuvix. I also quite appreciated the caption which implies that the coffee makes Janeway a bit crazy and not the fact that she’s trapped in the Delta quadrant.

I’m actually not entirely sure where this next meme comes from. I’ve had it saved on my phone for a while now. If someone knows its provenance, please let me know and I will add credit appropriately.

So, one thing you should know about me: I love the Barbie movie. One thing I love even more is Star Trek: The Next Generation. So having a meme that brings two things I love together is just ideal. Picard’s deadpan expression is absolutely perfect. I have a feeling he didn’t love Barbie nearly as much as I did.

This next one isn’t necessarily a “meme,” however someone on Reddit made a very funny edit and I cannot stop thinking about it. Thank you Significant-Town-817 on Reddit for blessing us with this:

I cannot decide which is more fabulous, Uhura with Spock’s hair, or Spock with Uhura’s hair. It makes me wonder what Spohura would look like (don’t tell Janeway). I will say, Bones looks surprisingly normal.

Thank you to @JoseLeyend59494 on X for this next meme. When searching for memes for this week I came across this one and it felt a bit like a personal attack:

From this day forth every Monday I will be taking your memes for the glory of the Klingon Empire.

Finally, we end with a meme made by yours truly. I thought this who debacle was very funny in the new Star Trek: Lower Decks episode so I decided to make a little meme about it:

I hope you enjoyed this meme review. If you want more memes like this, as well as other content, follow us on Instagram. See you next week!
