MEME REVIEW MONDAY: Super Bowl Sunday, Nerd Test, and the Stupidest STAR TREK Meme

Hello and welcome back to another Meme Review Monday! I know you’ve been waiting all week for this epic meme review so let’s jump right in!

First up we have a meme from @robintreks on Instagram!

Frankly, I wish these were my valentine's day plans. That looks wonderful. There’s nothing like cozying up with some Trek and good food. Alas, I had work on Valentine's Day so I did not even get to have a cozy night in with DS9.

Next up we have a meme from @goskiwithkelly on X.

Like many Americans, I did watch the Super Bowl this past week and I was just as surprised as everyone else that Travis Kelsey had the audacity to yell at his coach like that. I think in most other sports that would’ve immediately gotten him benched if not fired, and rightfully so. Regardless of my opinion on basic respect, this did make for some wonderful memes. I scrolled through a lot of these this past week, however I went with this one. It’s a classic meme in a new format, you really can’t go wrong with it.

Next up we have a meme from @geezerwench on Tumblr.

I love stupid memes like this. It’s funny and dumb and it makes everyone giggle. If I’m going to be nitpicky, TOS technically wouldn’t have used LEDs. LEDs were first invented in 1962 and the technology was not nearly advanced enough for movies until about the 2010s. So actually these were probably some other entertainment light fixture (most likely with a tungsten halogen bulb as those became big in around the 1960s) with a lighting gel placed over the light to make the color. Sorry for geeking out, I just took a test on entertainment lighting fixtures throughout history so all this knowledge is fresh in my brain.

Next up we have a meme from @David_Leavitt on X.

The irony of me finding this meme on X is not lost on me. For context this meme is about Elon Musk, the owner of X. I definitely giggled at this meme. I’m not sure I would have ever acquainted Musk with Quark, but I get the idea of equating him with a greedy, money hungry, capitalist. In my opinion, Quark is too kind and willing to sacrifice profit for the good of others to ever be like Elon Musk. I digress. Overall I see what this meme is saying and it is very funny.

I am by no means a science person and I actually don’t know what this machine is called, however I do know that it is measuring resistance. The symbol for resistance in physics is Ω and that’s the symbol that this machine is pointing to, therefore it’s saying resistance is futile. I’m very curious as to how they got the screen to display the word futile however it’s still a quality meme.

Next up we have a meme from @RubyJohnson999 on X.

This meme is definitely one of the stupidest Star Trek memes I have ever seen. Despite that, I adore it. I’ve never thought to compare William Shatner to a squirrel but now that I have I will never unsee it. This squirrel even has the right colors. It’s perfect.

Next up we have a meme from @trek-tracks on Tumblr.

Everyday I get emails. That is life in the digital age. It seems no matter what I do I always have emails. The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is check my email. It is just simply a part of life now. I almost enjoy the routine of checking my email…almost. Most of the time I feel as disgruntled about emails as Bones looks.

Finally, we have a meme made by yours truly.

This isn’t really a meme, I’m just really excited for the new Discovery season. I literally have a countdown going on my phone. Discovery and TNG are tied for my favorite Star Trek shows so I’m eagerly awaiting the newest Discovery season. Though I’m definitely sad that it’s ending, I’m excited to see what’s in store for the crew this season.

That’s all I have for you guys today! See you next week!
