A Star Trek studio set is opening its doors for fans this weekend in Kingsland, Georgia.

WJCT Public Media, out of Jacksonville, Florida has the story: Neutral Zone Studios, owned by long-time Star Trek fan Ray Tesi, is a recreation of the series’ sets at Paramount, back in the day. Not unlike the The Star Trek Original Series Set Tour in Ticonderoga, New York, Neutral Zone Studios aims to give fans a look at “what a real studio looks like”. The facility, formerly Stage 9 Studios, was the shooting location for Star Trek Continues, and is currently the home of fan production Dreadnought Dominion and others.

This weekend’s free event is a Fan Appreciation Weekend, starting this afternoon, and running through Sunday. The weekend features appearances by Bjo Trimble, who helped lead the letter-writing campaign that kept TOS on the air for a third season, and Judy Burns, who wrote “The Tholian Web”. In addition to the set tours, there are also a selection of panels and screenings during the day, and social activities at night. For more information, please visit Neutral Zone Studios’ website.
