NOVEMBER 17, 2022 - The first of the new official Star Trek conventions, organized by ReedPop and called Star Trek: Mission Chicago, was an apparent success last April. ReedPop announced that the next official convention would be in Seattle in 2023. But that is not going to be the case after all.

In a tweet yesterday, ReedPop said on its Star Trek: Mission Seattle page that the convention would not be happening as planned. The announcement reads, “After careful consideration, the decision has been made to not move forward with the Star Trek: Mission Seattle event in 2023. We are working on new ways to bring our favorite Trek fans the optimum experience, and we look forward to celebrating together again in the future.”

ReedPop, which also runs New York Comic Con, among other genre conventions, took over for Creation Entertainment as the official Star Trek convention organizer last year. Creation has continued unofficially to run what used to be known as Star Trek: Las Vegas. What they are now calling STLV: 57-Year Mission will take place next August.
