Official magazine Star Trek Explorer reveals big-name authors for new short fiction features
SEPTEMBER 28, 2021 - Last month we let you know that the official Star Trek magazine was rebooting as Star Trek Explorer, and now there are a few more details about what to expect between the covers.
One of the magazine’s new features is short fiction, and TrekCore has some specifics on what the first issue will have in store. Each issue will have two print stories and, for subscribers, access to two more stories in a digital supplement. The first set of stories will revolve around the character of Q, embodied on screen by John de Lancie, who will be bringing the character back for season two of Star Trek: Picard.
The initial stories will be written by Star Trek novelists Una McCormack (recently the author of the Star Trek: Discovery novel, Wonderlands) and James Swallow (one of the contributors to the Star Trek: Coda trilogy); Star Trek: Voyager screenwriter Lisa Klink; and writer Chris Cooper.
