Paramount+ arrives in the UK and Ireland with a fanfare which includes stars and experiences from Star Trek
JUNE 20, 2022 - Back in May, we brought you the long-overdue news that Paramount+ would be launching in thw UK and Ireland on June 22 of this year. With the promised launch date just two days from now, the streaming service has launched an ad campaign featuring Uma Thurman and a plethora of Star Trek references, including an appearance by Sonequa Martin-Green.
But that’s not all the fanfare. As reported by TrekMovie, Paramount+ is holding a star-studded blue carpet event in London today, hosted by Graham Norton and featuring Martin-Green and Captain Janeway herself, Kate Mulgrew. Paramount will also “take over” London’s theatre district, the West End, with a variety of pop-ups and installations, including 50 illuminated stars hung over four streets and a pop-up space in Piccadilly Circus where fans will be able to explore a variety of sets and memorabilia from Paramount+ shows, including Star Trek: Discovery.
