MARCH 2, 2023 - March is Women’s History Month, prompting people across the world to celebrate the women who have made a difference, past, present, and future.

Streaming service Paramount+ is getting into the action, with a special collection curated to acknowledge the contributions of women, both in front of and behind the camera. Dubbed the “Women Who Move Mountains” collection, it features a number of Paramount series, including two of particular interest to Trek fans: Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard.

DISCO, as you know, features strong women both in front of and behind the camera, including Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Philippa Georgiou (frequent award-winner Michelle Yeoh), among many others, with Executive Producer Michelle Paradise working behind the scenes. PIC’s cast features Michelle Hurd as Raffi Musiker and Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine. Heather Kadin is also an Executive Producer on both series, with Hanelle M. Culpepper directing for both, including PIC’s series premiere. And that’s just a very short list of the talented women working to bring us more Star Trek.
