Preview a spooky new episode of The Orville: New Horizons, "Shadow Realms"
JUNE 8, 2022 - Hulu’s not giving us much to go on regarding its new episodes of the Star Trek: The Next Generation-inspired show The Orville. After last week’s strong season opener, featuring a serious exploration of Isaac’s psyche, it looks like this Thursday’s episode might be better viewed in October.
The premise for episode 2, “Shadow Realms,” seems simple enough: The Orville explores a mysterious region of space. The one photo we have shows actress Jessica Szohr as Lieutenant Talla Keyali working with episode director Jon Cassar. Cassar previously directed the episode “Krill” for season 1, then four episodes of season 2. In New Horizons, he and show creator Seth MacFarlane are the sole directors.
Simple the premise may be, but the episode promo MacFarlane tweeted on Monday, June 6 portends spooky Halloween-esque misadventures:

What is that mysterious vessel the Orville is entering? What might be stalking Talla in the hallway? What prompts Gordon’s reference to a haunted house? We’ll have to tune in to The Orville: New Horizons, streaming exclusively on Hulu on Thursday, June 9, to find out.
