Preview Star Trek: Strange New Worlds episode 4 "Memento Mori" with new stills and trailer
MAY 23, 2022 - An old and familiar foe returns to television screens this week on the next episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The U.S.S. Enterprise is on the run from the Gorn in “Memento Mori”, due to premiere Thursday on Paramount+. We have numerous still images to share, as well as a trailer and preview clip from the episode.
Coming up on Strange New Worlds: “While on a routine supply mission to a colony planet, the U.S.S. Enterprise comes under an attack from an unknown malevolent force. Pike brings all his heart and experience to bear in facing the crisis, but the security officer warns him that the enemy cannot be dealt with by conventional Starfleet means.”
In the Star Trek timeline, this appearance of the Gorn could be considered “second contact”, following the Star Trek: Enterprise episode “In a Mirror Darkly, Part II”. That being said, the Terran Empire isn’t exactly Starfleet. With insider information from the Enterprise security officer, it will be interesting to see how an official “first contact” plays out in the Prime Universe on Strange New Worlds.
In anticipation of the episode’s release, Paramount+ released a trailer for “Memento Mori'' on Twitter with the message, “Some have seen them. Few survive them. Next episode, the Enterprise is hunted by the Gorn on #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds.”
A brief preview clip was shown on the most recent episode of The Ready Room following last week’s episode “Ghosts of Illyria”. From the look of things, there won’t be much time to run a supply mission while on the run from a hostile species. Even with the Gorn ship hot on their tail, we see the landing party does, in fact, make it down to the planet. However, with signs of a struggle and no colonists in sight, our crew has a new mystery to solve.
This week’s episode was written by Davy Perez and Beau DeMayo, with direction from Dan Liu. New episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premier weekly on Paramount+. Catch “Memento Mori” beginning May 26th.
