JUNE 29, 2022 - The Orville: New Horizons breaches the midway point of the season this week with “A Tale of Two Topas”, set to begin airing on Hulu June 30th. A trailer for the episode recently dropped on YouTube, and series creator Seth MacFarlane has promised fans nothing short of a jaw-dropping episode.

This week, tensions between Kelly and the Moclans result when she helps Topa prepare for the Union Point entrance exam. Topa, the child of Klyden and Bortus, has long been a source of tension among not only the crew of the Orville, but of the Moclan people, as well.

In the trailer, the crew heads underground for some archaeological excitement. “A Tale of Two Topas” certainly won’t be short on action, as the trailer makes it very clear everyone needs to bring their “A-game” with them on this mission.

Seth MacFarlane posted to Twitter this week, alluding to big surprises” and more in the episode. MacFarlane wrote, “Brand new episode of The Orville: New Horizons this Thursday!!! Some shocking story twists, some big surprises, and some laughs!”

New Horizons has been making quite a splash. Fans are excited to see this loving nod to the Star Trek franchise really come into its own in the series’ third season. Emmy-winning animator Rob Cabrera recently praised the series in a tweet which read, “#TheOrville is killing it this season. That latest episode was quite epic. They pack so much story in every episode.” Similarly, user @AmyotteMarcel wrote “Can’t wait until thursday for the next episode of #TheOrvilleNewHorizons. Best tv show ever.” With these reviews and many more like them out there, it seems pretty clear the cast and crew of The Orville are on a hot streak this season.
