QMx to release new Qraftworks line of Star Trek starship papercraft models later this year
FEBRUARY 27, 2022 - While you’re making room on those shelves for the Star Trek: Prodigy action figures we told you about last week, here is another opportunity to do some more rearranging and a little dusting to get ready for yet another new lineup of ship models.
TrekCore announced over the weekend the upcoming launch of a series of model kits from collectible maker QMx’s Qraftworks. The PuzzleFleet models are 3D papercraft build-it-yourself kits, and the initial release will include eight ships ranging across the Star Trek franchise. The kits are constructed of precision-cut foam core pieces in full color. The ships scheduled for the first run are:
Constitution-class USS Enterprise from Star Trek: The Original Series
Klingon D7 Battlecruiser from the Original Series
Constitution-class refit USS Enterprise from the Star Trek films
USS Reliant from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Klingon Bird of Prey from Star Trek III: The Search for Spock
Galaxy-class USS Enterprise-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation
Crossfield-class USS Discovery from Star Trek: Discovery
California-class USS Cerritos from Star Trek: Lower Decks
While available images of the models are currently digital renderings rather than photos of the finished product, they appear as including a display stand and identification plaque. The models’ dimensions vary, of course, but appear to be up to about a foot long, a foot wide, and almost six inches high.
The first wave of ships is expected to arrive during the third quarter of 2022. Images are available at TrekCore, as is a preorder link to the Qraftworks website.
