Season 2 Of Star Trek: Prodigy Will Release This Year
FEBRUARY 10, 2023 – Since Star Trek: Prodigy wrapped up with the 2nd half of season one on the last week of 2022, fans have been asking one simple question, “when will season two air?”
Indeed, the show that’s made in collaboration with Nickelodeon Studios, and targeted towards a younger audience, has garnered the affection of long-time old-timer Trek fans. Some even commented that of all of the Nu-Trek currently airing, Prodigy is the closest in spirit to the Legacy Trek shows we know and love. So, of course, we want to know when it will be back.
Paramount+ has now confirmed that the beloved series will return in 2023. The exact date wasn’t given, but now it’s confirmed that it too will be on the screen in just a matter of months. (This also means that ALL of the current streaming Trek shows will air in 2023.)
When asked last month, during a panel discussion, when Prodigy would return, at the time, this was the official statement from the Prodigy executive producers: “We hope the second season will get a 2023 debut.”
Kevin Hageman added, “We don’t even know when it’s going to get released.”
Ben Hibon said at the time that production was “in full swing,” with different episodes of the 20-episode season at different stages of completion, but at the time they were already doing the final mix on the first two episodes.
We expect, just like season one, that the second season of Prodigy will also be broken into 10-episode volumes. This probably means that the second half of the season is likely to debut in 2024.
