While she was visiting London to help celebrate the release, Sonequa Martin-Green, DISCO’s Captain Michael Burnham, spoke to Games Radar about the show.

Martin-Green commented on how DISCO uses social commentary. “One of the biggest conflicts in season four is uncertainty. It’s an unpredictable threat that can’t really be known, keeps changing, and threatens life as we know it. How do we navigate that kind of uncertainty with those kinds of stakes?”

Moving on to speak about season five, Martin-Green borrowed a phrase from interviewer Bradley Russell: “Expect the unexpected.” She went on to say, “The three words I would use to describe season five are ‘refreshing, invigorating, lovely.’”

When asked if there’s anywhere special Martin-Green would like to see the show go in the future, she said she was excited to see new technology and more character development. “I just want to see more and more interactions with the crew of just the Discovery amongst themselves. I’m excited for more of that.” And, she allowed, more Tilly.
