Paramount+ has unveiled new additions to the cast of its highly anticipated original series, Star Trek: Star Fleet Academy. The streaming platform announced that Kerrice Brooks, Bella Shepard, and George Hawkins will join the cadre of young Starfleet cadets, embarking on adventures in one of the galaxy's most renowned institutions. With production slated to kick off this summer, the series promises a fresh and dynamic exploration of the Star Trek universe.

Kerrice Brooks, a multifaceted actress and professional dancer, is poised for a breakout year. Known for her roles in The Prom, The Cypher, and On My Block, Brooks will also star in the upcoming films My Old Ass, produced by Margot Robbie, and Feeling Randy, a 70s coming-of-age comedy. Her diverse background in performing with top-tier artists like Billie Eilish and Kanye West adds a unique dimension to her burgeoning acting career.

Bella Shepard, known for her lead role in the Paramount+ series Wolf Pack, brings a wealth of experience from her performances in On the Ropes, A Girl Named Jo, and Two Sides. Her impressive resume includes notable appearances in The Wilds, Witch Hunt, and the iCarly reboot, alongside a memorable stint in the final season of Orange Is the New Black. Shepard's versatility and dynamic screen presence are set to shine as she steps into the Starfleet universe.

George Hawkins, best known for his role as Dylan in Tell Me Everything, rounds out the trio of new cadets. Hawkins’ previous work includes performances in the BAFTA-nominated film Boiling Point and the feature Gassed Up. A recent graduate of London's Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, Hawkins is poised to bring a fresh, compelling energy to Star Trek: Star Fleet Academy.

The series, produced by CBS Studios, introduces a new generation of cadets striving to become Starfleet officers. Under the rigorous guidance of their instructors, these young hopefuls will navigate the trials of friendship, rivalry, and first love, all while confronting a new enemy threatening the Academy and the Federation.

Joining Brooks, Shepard, and Hawkins are previously announced cast members Holly Hunter, portraying the captain and chancellor of Starfleet Academy, and Paul Giamatti, cast as the season's antagonist. The show is helmed by co-showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau, with a premiere episode penned by Gaia Violo. The executive production team features an impressive roster, including Gaia Violo, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Jenny Lumet, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Frank Siracusa, and John Weber.
