Star Trek Day 2023 Set to Honor the Animated Series and More
AUGUST 28, 2023 - This year’s Star Trek Day, which falls on September 8th, marks the 57th anniversary of the franchise. The first ever episode, “The Man Trap,” premiered on NBC on September 8th, 1966.
To celebrate this momentous occasion multiple streaming and theatrical events have been planned. There’s the Star Trek Day Special hosted by Jerry O’Connell (the voice of Ransom in Star Trek: Lower Decks). The special will take a look at some of the most iconic moments throughout the history of the franchise. In addition, we will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Star Trek: The Animated Series, there will be a tribute to Star Trek: Discovery as it enters its final season, and we will get a sneak peek into the new season of Lower Decks. The special is free to watch globally on the Star Trek Day Website, on the Paramount+ and Star Trek YouTube Channels, on Twitch (@ParamountPlus), and on Facebook (@StarTrekOnPPlus and @StarTrek).

CBS will also be doing a special airing of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds episodes 101 and 102. These special back-to-back airings begin at 8 pm ET/PT.
