Star Trek: Discovery nominated for GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Drama Series
Star Trek: Discovery has been nominated for a GLAAD Media Award.
The GLAAD Media Awards are given annually to media who portray fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (or LGBTQ) community, and the issues that affect their lives. This year, awards will be given across a breadth of genres, including film and television, music, video games, print journalism and more. Star Trek: Discovery has been nominated in the category of Outstanding Drama Series.
Nominees for the GLAAD Media Awards are judged based on four criteria: fair, accurate and inclusive representation; boldness and originality; impact; and overall quality. Competing with Discovery for this year’s award are The CW’s Batwoman and Supergirl; Showtime’s Billions and The L Word: Generation Q; HBO’s Euphoria; BBC America’s Killing Eve; Netflix’s The Politician; FX’s Pose; and Freeform’s Shadowhunters.
The 31st Annual GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will take place on Thursday, March 19th at the Hilton Midtown in New York, and Thursday, April 16th, at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
