Star Trek: Discovery's Anthony Rapp croons in new Paramount+ ad offering 1 month FREE trial
DECEMBER 2, 2021 - Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp is helping Paramount+ celebrate the holiday cheer this season. Rapp was recently featured in a Paramount+ video promoting 30 free days of service as part of their campaign - not to mention showing off his incredible singing voice.
In the video, Rapp is seen in a recording studio, gearing up to “bring the holiday spirit to life” by singing a Paramount+ parody of the classic holiday tune “Jingle Bell Rock”. As Rapp begins to sing, a montage of clips from across the ViacomCBS portfolio of content (including Star Trek) can be seen, followed up with a short message encouraging viewers to “give the gift of Paramount+” with the first 30 days of your subscription included for free.
Rapp shared the video on social media with the message, “Singing like a crooner is fun! Enjoy this little tune I recorded for @paramountplus. Happy Holidays!”. Outside of Star Trek, Rapp is perhaps best known for his work as an accomplished Broadway actor and singer, having originated the role of Mark Cohen in the hit musical RENT!
Even though Rapp is a Star Trek actor, there is no mention of Star Trek accompanying the posted video. The posting from Paramount+ reads “For a limited time, enjoy 30 days of NFL on @CBS, Mayor of @Kingstown, @1883Official & more on us. It’s the gift of #ParamountPlus!”. Well, Star Trek: Prodigy creators Kevin and Dan Hageman weighed in on social media to make sure Star Trek wasn’t left out of your decision. From their joint Twitter account, @BrothersHageman, the video was shared with the comment “Or 30 days of #StarTrekProdigy” to go along with your free 30 days of everything else Paramount+ has to offer.
Whether it’s a gift for a friend or a gift for yourself, enjoy the first 30 days of your Paramout+ subscription for free by signing up now. To learn more and to start your subscription, visit paramountplus.com.
