JANM Book Club: My Lost Freedom: Sunday, April 21

Join author, George Takei, and illustrator, Michelle Lee, for a reading, conversation, and signing of their new children’s book, My Lost Freedom, a moving and true story about growing up in Japanese American concentration camps during World War II. The event takes place at the Japanese American National Museum, in Los Angeles, beginning at 2:00 p.m. PT. Head over to JANM for more information and to order tickets.

The Regular Stuff

·These are the X and Mastodon watchalongs:

o   #TOSSatNight starts at 9pm PT on Saturday night and follows a different episode of The Original Series every week, and

o   #StarTrekHour is a Q&A-format event, every Tuesday at 1pm PT.

·Then there’s Star Trek: Watch Party, hosted daily and coordinated on Facebook. Every evening, they use the Teleparty browser extension to watch Star Trek together. To find out more, head over to Star Trek: Watch Party on Facebook.

·Speaking of a Star Trek watch party: the iBlind Users Group hosts Trekkie Talk on the first and third Thursdays of every month. They watch an audio descriptive version of a Star Trek episode and get together virtually to discuss it. To find out how to join in, visit ibugtoday.com/trekkie-talk.

·Virtual Trek Con presents The Main Viewer every Tuesday - a live discussion show on YT with occasional special guests and an open chat geared towards fan interaction.

· Join Grey Havens Philosophy and Outworld Brewing every first Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. as they discuss the big ideas inspired by Star Trek. The gatherings are at Outworld Brewing, in Longmont, Colorado. Attendance is free, but an RSVP for planning purposes is appreciated at Eventbrite.

· The Observation Deck features a free series of online Star Trek watch parties, with episodes chosen from across the franchise. Set course for The Observation Deck for all the details, including the schedule and to sign up.
