In-person or virtually, getting together with our Trek buddies is always a blast

Hollywood Show: Friday, January 14 – Saturday, January 15

The Hollywood Show signing event will be taking place this Friday (4pm-8pm) and Saturday (10am-6pm) at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel. A multitude of Star Trek guest stars, among lots of other celebrities, are scheduled to appear, many from The Original Series. Hollywood Food Coalition telethon: Saturday, January 15

The Trek Geeks Podcast Network and Roddenberry Podcasts are sponsoring a day-long series of panels with a plethora of Star Trek guests in support of the Hollywood Food Coalition. John Billingsley, Star Trek: Enterprise’s Dr. Phlox, is the Coalition’s board president. Our own Alison Pitt will also be moderating one of the panels. The telethon begins at 11:45am PT. Disco Does DnD: Sunday, January 16

The first episode of Disco Does Dnd will happen this Sunday at 1:00pm PT/4:00pm ET. You can watch Noah Averbach-Katz, Anthony Rapp, Ian Alexander, and Blu Del Barrio, from Star Trek: Discovery, play Dungeons and Dragons on Twitch. Check out Twitch.tv to find out more.

Christopher Lloyd private signing: Wednesday, January 19

Russ’s Rockin’ Rollercoaster: Jim Johnson, Scott Pearson, and Ella Pearson: Wednesday, January 19

Join author Russ Colchamiro as he interviews SFF author Jim Johnson, writer and editor Scott Pearson, and podcaster Ella Pearson. It all gets underway next Wednesday at 8:00pm ET. The event is free with registration, which is available at Eventbrite.com, along with guest bios.

The Regular Stuff

  • These are the Twitter watchalongs:

    • #allstartrek runs Sunday through Friday at 8/7C and follows the Heroes and Icons Channel’s All Star Trek programme.

    • #TOSSatNight starts at 9pm PT on Saturday night and follows a different episode of The Original Series every week, and

    • #StarTrekHour is a Q&A-format event, every Tuesday at 1pm PT.

  • Then there’s Star Trek: Watch Party, hosted daily and coordinated on Facebook. Every evening, they use the Teleparty browser extension to watch Star Trek together. To find out more, head over to Star Trek: Watch Party on Facebook.

  • Speaking of a Star Trek watch party: the iBlind Users Group hosts Trekkie Talk on the first and third Thursdays of every month. They watch an audio descriptive version of a Star Trek episode and get together virtually to discuss it. To find out how to join in, visit ibugtoday.com/trekkie-talk.

  • To Proudly Go, a New York-based nonprofit, will be hosting Star Trek: Discovery season 4 viewing parties each Saturday (or the docuseries Center Seat while Discovery is on hiatus, January 15 – February 5, 2022). The gatherings begin at 6:00pm ET at the Barracuda Lounge in New York City. Tickets are free, and vaccination is required. The viewing parties also include Star Trek trivia games, special Star Trek-themed drag performances, two-for-one drinks, fabulous Star Trekprizes, and merchandise.   • And finally, there’s Sid City Social Club, hosted by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine star Alexander Siddig’s official fan website. They meet twice-monthly on the first Tuesday and third Friday of every month, with occasional pop-up meetings with Sid as his schedule allows.
