Washington State Summer Con: Friday, June 23 – Sunday, June 25

Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, LeVar Burton, John de Lancie, Terry Matalas, and Todd Stashwick are scheduled to appear at the Washington State Fair and Events Center, in Payallup. Check out Washington State Summer Con for all the details.

Days of the Dead: Friday, June 23 – Sunday, June 25

Nana Visitor and Ve Neill will be appearing this weekend at the Indianapolis Marriott East. Days of the Dead has all the skinny.

Greater Austin Comic Con: Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25

George Takei and Joanna Cassidy will be attending the con, taking place at the H-E-B Center, in Center Park, Texas. Head over to GACC for more information.

Trek Fest: Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24

The future birthplace of James T. Kirk, Riverside, Iowa,  will be hosting its 38th annual gathering with events ranging from live music and an intergalactic pet show to stargazing and photo ops with Chase Masterson. Check out Trek Fest for all the details.

Mississippi Comic Con: Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25

Christopher Lloyd and Gates McFadden are scheduled to appear at the MS Trade Mart this weekend, in Jackson. Mississippi Comic Con has more information.

Russ’s Rockin’ Rollercoaster: Picard Season 3: Wednesday, June 28

Authors Keith DeCandido, Kelly Fitzpatrick, and Derek Tyler Attico join host Russ Colchamiro for a virtual discussion of the final season of Star Trek: Picard. The party gets started at 8:00 p.m. ET. Head over to Eventbrite to reserve a free spot.

The Regular Stuff

·These are the Twitter watchalongs:

o   #allstartrek runs Sunday through Friday at 8/7C and follows the Heroes and Icons Channel’s All Star Trek programme.

o   #TOSSatNight starts at 9pm PT on Saturday night and follows a different episode of The Original Series every week, and

o   #StarTrekHour is a Q&A-format event, every Tuesday at 1pm PT.

·Then there’s Star Trek: Watch Party, hosted daily and coordinated on Facebook. Every evening, they use the Teleparty browser extension to watch Star Trek together. To find out more, head over to Star Trek: Watch Party on Facebook.

·Speaking of a Star Trek watch party: the iBlind Users Group hosts Trekkie Talk on the first and third Thursdays of every month. They watch an audio descriptive version of a Star Trek episode and get together virtually to discuss it. To find out how to join in, visit ibugtoday.com/trekkie-talk.

·But wait, there’s more watch partying: Club IDIC hosts a weekly watch party and discussion at 6pm Alberta Time every Friday. The schedule and Zoom links are available at the Club IDIC Facebook page.

·Virtual Trek Con presents The Main Viewer every Tuesday - a live discussion show on YT with occasional special guests and an open chat geared towards fan interaction.

·Disco Does DnD - livestream DnD game with DSC actors on Twitch, every Sunday at 1pmPT/4pmET.

· Join Grey Havens Philosophy and Outworld Brewing every first Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. as they discuss the big ideas inspired by Star Trek. The gatherings are at Outworld Brewing, in Longmont, Colorado. Attendance is free, but an RSVP for planning purposes is appreciated at Eventbrite.

·And finally, there’s Sid City Social Club, hosted by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine star Alexander Siddig’s official fan website. They meet twice monthly on the first Tuesday and third Friday of every month, with occasional pop-up meetings with Sid as his schedule allows. ·Ongoing through October, Starship Edsel is a Star Trek inspired farce set aboard the Federation Starship Edsel towards the end of the 24th century. It is based upon a LARP written and developed by Brandon Brylawski, who is also a producer and head writer on this show. Performances take place at the Otherworld Theatre, in Chicago. ·Ongoing through March 2024, the National Museum of African American History and Culture hosts the exhibition, “Afrofuturism: A History of Black Futures,” which includes a uniform worn by Nichelle Nichols.

·Ongoing Saturdays through August 19, join To Boldly Go for a Star Trek: Strange New Worlds viewing event and fundraiser, starting at 6 p.m. ET at the Barracuda Lounge in New York City. Included are drag shows, 2-for-1 drinks, bingo & trivia, and prizes & giveaways. Each night is dedicated to supporting The Ali Forney Center's mission is to protect LGBTQ+ youth from the harms of homelessness and empower them with the tools needed to live independently. Free tickets are available at Eventbrite.
