Star Trek: Lower Decks Nominated For Critics Choice Television Award
DECEMBER 9, 2022 - Hope springs eternal. While Star Trek: Lower Decks has received several award nominations for the series and for individual actors, including a Saturn and a Hugo, the only win so far has been for Dawnn Lewis, who took home an NAACP Image Award. The latest nomination has now come from the Critics Choice Association, according to TrekMovie.
Lower Decks is up for Best Animated Series within the Critics Choice Television Awards, which have been around since 2011. This is the first Television Awards nomination for the Star Trek franchise. The series’ competition consists of Bluey, Bob’s Burgers, Genndy Tartakovskey’s Primal, Harley Quinn, and Undone.
The Critics Choice Association itself has been around since 1995 and is the largest film critics organization in the United States and Canada. They have been giving out the Critics Choice Movie Awards since 1996, which, prior to 2011, were simply known as the Critics Choice Awards.
The Critics Choice Awards show, now combining the movie and television sides, will be broadcast January 15, live on The CW.
So let’s all join in between now and then: Lower Decks! Lower Decks! Lower Decks!
