Star Trek Online releases House United for Xbox and Playstation, and Mary Chieffo rocks in Klingon to go with it
AUGUST 3, 2021 - It’s been just over a year since Cryptic Studios, developers of the popular game Star Trek Online, announced what they were calling “The Year of Klingon.” Over the past 14 months, players of the free-to-play MMORPG have enjoyed the fruits of that promise with the unfolding saga of the Klingon Civil War, experienced through the updates House Divided and House Shattered. For PC users, the war came to a glorious end in May with Cryptic’s final update, and now console players can also raise a bloodwine toast to the health of the Empire with the release of House United for Xbox One and Playstation 4.
In a press release Tuesday the studio declared, “Starting today, console players can […] experience the long-awaited finale of the Klingon Civil War. The game’s newest season features some of Star Trek’s most epic Klingon warriors, including Star Trek: Discovery’s L’Rell (voiced by Mary Chieffo), Aakar (Robert O’Reilly from Star Trek: The Next Generation) and General Martok (J.G. Hertzler from Deep Space: Nine), as well as Adet’Pa (Rekha Sharma from Star Trek: Discovery).”
In addition to the main announcement, ScreenRant.com shared an exclusive lyric video for the new song “Steel and Flames” that goes with the update. It’s 80s-style metal, it’s sung in Klingon, and the lead vocals are by none other than the Mother of Klingons herself, Mary Chieffo.
