STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS Season 3 Set To Start Filming In Less Than a Month
NOVEMBER 15, 2023 - As reported last week here on Daily Star Trek News, SAG-AFTRA and AMPTP have reached an agreement, so we can all rejoice at the thought of more Star Trek getting started on.
Well… Rejoice.
It seems the actors and production staff are all ready to go again. Brought to light from TrekMovie, the pre-production is restarting and filming is set to begin on December 11, running through July 2024. The stars of the show, including Jess Bush and Melissa Navia, are preparing for filming, suggesting a potential late 2024 debut for the new season. With the double strikes affecting Star Trek releases, the timeline could be expedited, and there's speculation about the possibility of splitting the season into two halves for a quicker release. Season 3 will see the return of the full cast, including Scottish actor Martin Quinn as Scotty, and feature the Gorn as recurring villains. The show continues its episodic format with promises of more genre exploration and ambitious storytelling in the upcoming season.
We at Daily Star Trek News can’t wait for season 3 and only wish we could get more than ten episodes per season.
