Star Trek: The Pod Directive is now available; the first episode features Ben Stiller
The first episode of the new official Star Trek podcast, The Pod Directive, is now available. The new show, which is hosted by Lower Decks star Tawny Newsome and podcaster and actor Paul F. Tompkins, posted its debut episode on Monday, featuring an interview with actor and producer Ben Stiller.
No, it’s not your imagination...Ben Stiller hasn’t been in Star Trek. But he is a huge Star Trek fan. In the episode, Newsome and Tompkins grill Stiller about his Trek collection, his childhood Trek memories, and how Star Trek influences his creative process to this day. Oh yeah, and it’s a 47-minute episode, so points for nerd cred.
The Pod Directive releases a new episode each week on Monday. While we don’t have a full schedule of who will appear on the show, the podcast trailer indicates that author Reza Aslan, Star Trek: Picard’s Michelle Hurd, former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams and Star Trek: Discovery’s Tig Notaro, among others, are due to turn up in future episodes.
Star Trek: The Pod Directive is now available on all the major platforms, and you can listen to it wherever you get your podcasts.
