'Star Trek: Voyager' Guest Actress Marva Hicks Dies At 66
SEPTEMBER 21, 2022 - She was known for her film, television, Broadway, and music recording work. She also managed to stop by for a couple of episodes of Star Trek. Deadline is reporting on a life and career ended too soon, as Marva Hicks died, on September 16. While it has been an open question, her Wikipedia page indicates she was 66.
Star Trek fans will know her as Tuvok’s wife in the Star Trek: Voyager season two episode, "Persistence of Vision" and the seventh season episode, "Body and Soul."
Outside of Star Trek, Hicks made her Broadway debut in Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music, in 1981, and most recently appeared in 2013’s Motown: The Musical. She also made appearances in non-Broadway stage productions as well as film and television roles, including in L.A. Law, Babylon 5, and House of Cards.
Hicks recorded the hit single, “Never Been in Love Before” in 1991 and also won three Helen Hayes Awards, which recognize excellence in professional theater in the Washington, D.C. area.
Her family said in part, “Our beloved wife, family member, and friend will be greatly missed and remains marvelous in our hearts forever.”
