Star Trek: Year Five is getting a Valentine’s Day special
Star Trek is getting a Valentine’s Day special. Well, kind of.
A piece from Comicbook.com reports that among the February 2020 solicitations for IDW - the publishers of Star Trek comics - is information on a Star Trek: Year Five Valentine’s Day special. According to the piece, the story will be written by Paul Cornell, a writer who is known for his work on Doctor Who comics, as well as Marvel, DC and his own original properties. The artwork will be done by Christopher Jones, who has previously worked on Young Justice, Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and The Batman Strikes. A retailer incentive cover will also be available from Eisner award-winning artist Derek Charm.
Comicbook.com says that the plot of the story revolves around Captain Kirk’s reputation as a ladies man. Quoting the piece, “In the story, [Kirk] meets Laura Rhone, a female Starfleet captain with a reputation to rival even Kirk’s. Is it true love? Fans will have to read to find out.”
The Star Trek: Year Five Valentine’s Day special is due to hit shelves on February 12th, 2020.
