TNG Actor Erich Anderson Is Dead at 67

While he is perhaps best known for his roles in Felicity and thirtysomething, he also made his mark on Star Trek. According to Deadline, prolific film and television actor Erich Anderson died of cancer on June 1st. He was 67.

Anderson’s career stretches back to 1983, when he appeared in one episode of For Love and Honor. he made his film debut in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter in 1984. Since then he amassed over 100 acting credits, ranging from Murder, She Wrote and Dallas to The X-Files and CSI:Miami.

Star Trek fans will know him as the Satarran operative “Commander Kieran MacDuff,” in Star Trek: The Next Generation’s season five episode, “Conundrum.” (Anderson’s wife, Saxon Trainor, also appeared on TNG, in the season four episode, “The Nth Degree.”)

Trainor shared the news on social media and quoted her brother-in-law, who remembered that Anderson was a “smart and funny guy” and a “fantastic cook.” Trainor herself said she was too bereft to write anything.
