Tommy “Tiny” Lister, Star Trek: Enterprise guest star, has passed away at 62
DECEMBER 14, 2020 - The actor Tommy Lister, Jr. (known commonly as “Tiny”) has passed away at the age of 62. According to Variety, Lister’s agent Cindy Cowan confirmed that he passed away on Thursday December 10th. Cowan noted that he had displayed symptoms of COVID-19 and had to cancel shooting because of illness, but as of this writing, no official cause of death was known. Multiple outlets have reported that he already had (and recovered from) COVID-19 about four months ago.
Lister was known to Star Trek fans as the Klingon Klaang in the pilot episode of Star Trek: Enterprise, “Broken Bow”. Outside of Star Trek, he had an extensive career in films, including his role as Deebo in the Friday movies, and as the Galactic President in The Fifth Element.
Cowan said of Lister, “He was a wonderful guy with a heart of gold. Everyone loved him. A real gentle giant. We’re all devastated.”
