UPDATE: Ben Robinson Finally Drops Some Solid News About the Fate of Eaglemoss' Starship Line, and More
DECEMBER 15, 2022 - Ben Robinson has been promising us to have news about that tiny fleet of starships from Eaglemoss since October. The company went bankrupt over the summer and the fate of its line of ship models, as well as other Star Trek products, has been up in the air since then. Apart from a few hints of what might be on the horizon, no official announcements have been made, Until now.
Robinson, formerly Eaglemoss’ Director of Licensed Properties, released a series of tweets today:
Here’s what I can say as of now. 1) one company has bought the existing stock of the ships and figurines. I’m working with them to set up an eShop that will launch in the New Year. The plan is to sell everything at regular prices. I’m looking at the stock now. More news in 23.

2) A second company has taken over the build ups. They are close to making an announcement but aren’t quite ready. I’m working with them too. You will have to confirm where you want to start your subscription again. More news soon. This will be a new website.

3) If you paid Eaglemoss for things you didn’t get, you should do/ should have done everything you can to get that money back. Eaglemoss owed a lot of people money including the staff. The new companies have taken over the rights and bought the stock but not the debts.

4) Both companies plan to sell in both the US and the UK. I will let you know about other countries when I find out.

5) There are good reasons to believe that someone will produce new Star Trek ships that haven’t been made yet. I hope to be involved with that. It takes a long time though so we won’t see new ships before late 2023 at the earliest. It’s more likely to be 2024.

6) You will have to sign up to receive emails from both these companies. I’ll let you know how to do that once it’s up and running. In the meantime I’ll be helping both companies and will try spread the word.

If you’ve been following our updates since the first rumors of Eaglemoss’ demise, none of this should come as a surprise. Robinson has been teasing this news for months, and it seemed likely that some of the company’s lines would be purchased for distribution by other companies.
The news about the build-ups is welcome. A lot of customers left with half-built Enterprises feared their models would never launch from Utopia Planitia. Keep your eye on DSTN for news of more announcements as they are made.
